Prismatic Flower Essences brings distance Reiki and personally blended flower essences to Camden, offering a gentle way for harbor-town residents to soften daily stress and settle into a calmer nervous system.
Camden is famous as the place where the mountains meet the sea, with Mount Battie rising over the harbor in Camden Hills State Park and windjammers filling the bay. Its long-standing arts and sailing culture pairs beautifully with mindful, grounded living.
Few ski hills anywhere look out on open ocean, and the Snow Bowl's wooden toboggan chute pulls crowds up the mountain every February. Winter on this harbor rewards staying in as much as heading out. Remote sessions need no drive at all, and essence blends arrive by mail from Michigan when the roads turn poor.
The Massachusetts General Court incorporated Megunticook Plantation as the town of Camden on February 17, 1791, naming it for Charles Pratt, first Earl Camden. Local forces put a battery of cannon on top of Mount Battie during the War of 1812, a road to the summit followed in 1897 with an inn beside it, and Mount Megunticook behind it reaches 1,385 feet. In 1912 Edna St. Vincent Millay recited Renascence, written on Mount Battie, to guests at the Whitehall Inn, and a listener offered to pay for her to go to Vassar. Captain Frank Swift started the cruise schooner trade in 1936, which is where the windjammer fleet in the harbor comes from, and Peyton Place was filmed here in 1957.
