Winooski neighbors can receive distance Reiki along with personally blended flower essences and aura sprays sent from our Metro Detroit studio, offering quiet, grounding support without ever leaving home.
Packed into roughly one and a half square miles along the falls of the Winooski River, this former mill city is the most densely populated and culturally diverse community in northern New England. A lively downtown, riverside rotary park, and deep immigrant roots give it a warm, international energy.
The falls run right through the middle of town, loud enough in spring to carry up to the streets above them. Reiki reaches you at home, since every session is held at a distance and asks for no travel. Anything you order in a bottle is mixed by hand in Michigan and posted from there.
The Abenaki called this Winoskitegw, the land of the wild onion, and the river is still sometimes called the Onion. The falls powered wool: the Burlington Mill Company was spinning yarn and weaving cloth here by the late 1830s, and the American Woolen Company bought the failing operation in 1901 and made it work again. Winooski separated from Colchester and incorporated as a city in 1922. The mills closed in 1954 and the town went quiet for two decades until two of the old buildings were converted to commercial, office and apartment space in the 1980s, and roughly 36 percent of residents still traced French or French-Canadian ancestry at the 2010 census.
