The Way of the Fire Dragon is a Raku-Kei Reiki master manual by Holli Blackwell, a Reiki Energy Master Teacher writing under the Quantum Visions name. Its central teaching is structural: the word Reiki comes from Raku-Kei, where Raku is the vertical energy flow in the body and Kei the horizontal, and the two cross at the Hara centre at the solar plexus, the same centre cut in the Samurai ritual of Hara Kiri with three cuts forming a triangle. The manual traces the tradition to Tibet, where Lamas used calligraphs to hold a healing concept, painting them large on monastery wall hangings.
It describes the meditation chamber in detail: walls of polished copper buffed to a high sheen, a four-legged wooden stool with silver inlay running up each leg to a Master Frequency symbol on the seat, the stool standing in an oval earthenware container of water representing the etheric egg and the emotions, the four legs standing for the cardinal points and elements and the meditator making a fifth as Spirit.
It carries the line forward through Rolf Jensen, a US military orderly sent to Japan in 1915 who returned in 1923, and through Arthur Robertson, who studied with Virginia Samdahl, the first Westerner given Reiki Mastership, and later with Iris Ishikuru.

How it is used:
The foundation practice is the Hui Yin contraction held together with the tongue pressed to the alveolar ridge behind the two front teeth, and the manual states that competence in this is necessary before a student can attune anyone effectively. With that held, visualise a white mist forming at the base of the spine on the inhale, feel it rise up the spine into the head while the breath is held, watch it circulate and turn violet, and hold the image about two minutes, repeating twice more.
In the Water Ceremony students sit in a circle facing outwards on the Master Energy symbol, each holding a consecrated cup of water at the solar plexus between both palms, and the teacher works round the circle drawing the Fire Serpent down each back and breathing the symbols into the crown.
